Gynecological ultrasound in Tel Aviv
The gynecological ultrasound is performed during the consultation itself, when clinically indicated. No separate appointment, no waiting, and the images are discussed straight away alongside the clinical examination.
When to come in
- Pelvic pain or pain during periods
- Irregular, heavy or intermenstrual bleeding
- Follow-up of a uterine fibroid or an ovarian cyst
- Assessment of polycystic ovaries
- Checking the position of an IUD
- Assessment of the endometrium, particularly after menopause
- Assessment before a surgical decision
How the consultation works

No particular preparation. There is no need to fast or to arrive with a full bladder. The scan can be done at any point in the cycle, unless you have been told otherwise.

The scan. The ultrasound is most often transvaginal, as this gives a precise view of the uterus and ovaries. It takes a few minutes and is generally painless.

The interpretation. The images are interpreted and discussed with you during the scan itself. What is seen, what it means and any next steps are explained to you directly.
What is done here, and what is not
The practice is equipped with a GE Voluson SWIFT BT23, which includes 3D capability. It is used for gynecological ultrasound: uterus, ovaries, endometrium, fibroids, cysts and their follow-up.
I do not perform obstetric ultrasound. Anomaly scans, growth measurements and fetal monitoring are referred to a dedicated centre, which is what they specialise in.
This distinction is stated in advance and explicitly, so that no patient travels here only to find that the scan she needs is not the one performed at this practice.
Frequently asked questions
No. A gynecological ultrasound is not painful. There may be a brief feeling of pressure, and the examination can be stopped at any point.

Obstetric ultrasound is not performed at the practice. In early pregnancy, the location and progress can be assessed, but anomaly scans and fetal monitoring are referred to a specialist centre.
